I love making photo calendars when the photos are special to the recipient. To be sure that my husband likes the one I made for his birthday, I am letting him choose the photos. I think that it will take a while to finish this calendar. .....soooooo many unorganized photos in the computer. I guess as long as we keep adding a photo a month it will get done. I decided I wanted to make an interesting way to display the calendar so I used the 'Cinch' to bind some of the pages in a configuration that would allow the calendar multiple arrangements. To keep the calendar less girly I searched my scrap bin for muted colors or pieces that would match my husband's color choices. I didn't want the calendar to stand out too much so I chose clear calendar stickers available at Ben Franklin Crafts. For now I am keeping the pages simple until my husband picks the photos and then I'll add the embellies. On one side of the main covered chipboard I stamped the words 'What If the Hokey Pokey is what it's all about?', which is one of my favorite rubber stamp sayings. If you remember the days of doing the Hokey Pokey dance then you are old, too. "Put your right foot in, put your right foot out, put your right foot in and shake it all about.... do the Hokey Pokey and turn yourself around, that's what it's all about!" Sometimes doesn't it seem that all of life is like the Hokey Pokey song? We all try to move forward but it seems that society just keeps turning around. I guess progress doesn't happen in one generation and the goal is to live a long time to see improvement in mankind. Be good to yourself.
