While once again rearranging my box of thin die sets, I discovered a die that I must have purchased after last Valentine's Day because it was still in the package. The front picture on the set was not particularly attractive which may be why I let it get lost under all the other dies. After trying it out, I discovered that the set was actually pretty neat with its heart closure and ability to be used as a small note card or to enclose a gift card. I chose to make food related holders/cards (using Kitty Bee or Two Scoops Rice stamps, available in many designs at HouseMart Ben Franklin Crafts) because I will probably be enclosing food gift cards or giving them to foodies.
On the top three pieces I glued on solid colored hearts (and glittered some) to have them contrast with the holder/card. I especially like the one with the puppy in the bowl because I used Martha Stewart flocking with sparkles (from BFC) on the pink heart and it has a soft visual look and tactile feel. On the cupcake version I did not cover over the heart insert because the cupcake design just happened to fall in a perfect place on the heart. Diamond Glaze and Stickles were used to enhance the stamped designs on the card holders/mini cards.
I don't think that these mini note cards or gift card holders should only be used for Valentine's Day because they can be cute for any occasion. A small project like this can easily use up lots of your pretty scraps and build up your supply of ready-to-use cards. Tips: 1)Once you have your die out be sure to cut lots of blanks to save time and effort for later projects. 2) Stamp out several images when you have your supplies out and put the uncolored images in the package with the stamps so you will not have to ink up and clean up your stamps again the next time you want to use the image. Okay go to it....use up those scraps....always be ready with gift enclosures......have crafty fun!

Clever idea with the Sizzix die, it sure makes crafting easier. LOL!
love the KB stamps that makes it more special on the gift card holder....TFS Lynn, hope your day is going great!
So adorable...I really should make some to have on hand because I'm always scrambling to put something quick together!
Great projects and love the idea of stamping extra images and placing them with the stamp!! I'll start doing that!
Happy Valentine's Day Lynn! Ahh, brilliant ideas to use up those scraps! These giftcard holders are terrific.
Lots of great ideas Lynn! I never thought of stamping extras and putting them with the stamp. Sometimes I stamp an image that I just purchased color it and then I put it with the stamp if I get stuck on what to do with it. lol! Thanks for sharing!!
Have a great weekend!
Oh, this is SO NEAT! I don't think I've ever seen this die before...wow, I really like how the little heart keeps the card closed...so COOL! And those stamped images are so darned CUTE! What a clever idea for giving food and restaurant gift cards!
