Where and What?

I've been traveling and only reading blogs from my phone. As my way of apologizing for my lack of comments on your wonderful posts, I've decided to make a contest (with prizes).  The first person to identify the general area where this photo was taken and figure out what I was doing there will win some craft goodies.
