Blog Candy for Halloween

Okay I know you've all been waiting for a Ben Franlin Craft Club contest. Here's it is! And all you have to do is leave a comment for this post.....anything will do but if you want to tell me about your favorite holiday craft project I'd be pleased to hear about it. So easy and you might win all the blog candy (approx. value $30) shown (and some hidden in the bag) in the photo including a $25 Ben Franklin Crafts gift card. Your comment must be received by noon Oct. 1st. I will randomly draw a name and announce the winner by Oct. 3rd. You will have to check back to this blog site to see if you are the winner and if you are, then you will need to send your mailing address to me. (I'll tell you how to do this later.) So post a comment and win!

(P.S. The black spider web treat bag is available at Ben Franklin Crafts. It does not come with the spiders. They are punched (EK Success punch) from green paper that was run through the Xyron to apply adhesive. Flat-back rhinestone crystals were added and then the spider was sprinkled with green glitter (Darice glitter pack).)

I have several projects in the works (etching, sewing, crocheting) but since I just purchased a YUDU system, I will be trying to figure out how to do it and start out by making the equivalent of "recycleable shopping bags" out of canvas. The design will be tailor made to the recipient's favorite things -- for example...one of my friends love pandas, another kitty cats, etc...as well as plain colored tshirts for my grandson with jungle animals...

It will be interesting as this is all new to me...however, as one of my co-workers would say..."bring it on".

I have a couple of people on my Christmas list that only want gift cards. This year I'm thinking I am going to make exploding boxes to hold the gift cards.

For Christmas, I like making light "wooden" ornaments by gluing a stamped image or computer clip art that had been cut out to a piece of balsa wood. Then using a sharp Xacto knife, gently cut around the image. I cut through several times using a "sawing" technique. Then add embellishments and glitter ( of course!) Poke a hole at the top,add cording and you're done!

My favorite holiday craft project? Hmmm, not sure if this counts, but one year a group of us made about 60 notebook holders using pocket folders and die cuts. We made them to give away a holiday meeting/party. Last year, we made mini paperbag albums.

Even though we send out mostly picture Christmas cards, I still love making Christmas cards - the papers and 'bellies and stamps are just so much fun!

BOOOOO! Halloween is my favorite crafting holiday because everything turns out "nice." It doesn't matter if it's lopsided or crooked or strangely colored or missing parts...it all adds to the fun and mystique. I also enjoy getting really "creative" and do Halloween crafts with my grandchildren.

I dabble in crafts all year `round, but my favorite hobby is making Christmas ornaments. I do all types, but have "collections" of gingerbread, snowman, and Asian ornaments.
