As most Hawaii locals know, when you go on a trip, you bring back gifts, omiyage (o-me-ya-gay)(Japanese pronunciation) for others. My neighbors who take care of our mail/newspapers and our friends who care for our pets in our absence truly deserve 'omiyage' for all their help. To dress up the gifts and include a message of thanks I made gift tags using a Fumi and Yumi new 'peek-a-boo' series stamp. The character in the cute stamp has a turtle on her head which made it perfect for the tag as our pets are turtles. The tag shape was achieved with a Spellbinder frame die set (sold at Ben Franklin Crafts). The stamped words are from a Hero Arts clear stamp set. For the background I used the die to cut some of the crinkle origami paper I purchased in Japan.

Hi! Love your idea of creating "thank you" tags to attach with omiyages. I tend to give the omiyages with just a verbal "thank you"! Will start creating! Mahalo!
Hi Mele09 ! If you are a Ben Franklin Craft Club member, I would like to send the packet of crinkle origami papers to you. You need to send your real name and mailing address to my email address (lsakami@aol.com).

:D
Cute tags on both.... Haven't had a chance to get any of these stamps yet... Too bad they don't have it in digital... LOL!
You own turtles? That's so NEAT! I've heard they usually outlive their owners...
LOL, but your omiyage tags are even NEAT-er! Such a clever idea! I'd probably be too exhausted after a trip to make them, but I could probably make them before I leave...love this idea!
