Lawn Fawn Snowball Fight Sample Card

This is the last and I think the best of the sample Lawn Fawn winter cards I will be showing you.  I love that it is an interactive card. When you pull out the the right side panel, the snowball throwing mouse pops out. It's so darn cute that I can barely stop playing with it.  I really think the Lawn Fawn constellation background cardstock is perfect for this card.  Even though I truly love this entire card, I probably won't copy it exactly because I can never resist adding my own touches.  I am thankful though that I was given this sample card because the Lawn Fawn designers are super talented and it is helpful to see their work close-up.  I hope that you've been inspired to make some fun holiday cards too....I'm sure that HM Ben Franklin Crafts can help you get started today!

Happy Fall Autumn Leaves Card

I am always attracted to crafting supplies with autumn leaves so of course I had to purchase the Hero Arts Bold Prints, Stencil square and Fancy dies shown below.  I started by stenciling the leaves onto some watercolor paper (the texture is very leaf-like).  I used three autumn colored stamping inks and applied them with soft bristled stenciling brushes.  Next I stamped the leaf print with copper metallic ink.  In the photo the swirling leaves are barely visible but up close it's a nice touch. Perhaps next time I'll stamp the image and then use heat embossing powder to make it stand out more.  I love the die cut leaves and acorns especially the embossed details.  They were cut from pearlized metallic papers which are usually available during the holidays.  The 'HAPPY fall' words (Lawn Fawn) were cut from copper colored glitter paper. I think the extra large glittered letters really convey the excitement I feel when the fall season arrives. Even if the leaves in Hawaii don't float down (unless the tree is dying...LOL) I think  autumn marks the beginning of the holidays....HOORAY!!!!!

Lawn Fawn Winter Sample Cards

Here are two more Lawn Fawn sample cards that I wanted to show you so that you could purchase the supplies and start making your own Christmas cards.  I think both of them are simple to make and basically traditional but with a touch of cuteness.  I like the background in the top card because the stenciled trees look like they've been dusted with snow.  On the second card I was instantly drawn to the giant letters and very usable sentiment.  It's cute with the reindeer in the ugly sweater but really lots of images could be used to make this card charming.  Please check out your nearest HM Ben Franklin Crafts to see the newest Lawn Fawn holiday supplies.  It's time to do some holiday crafting!

Recycled Chocolate Candy Gift Bag

I just couldn't resist turning this Ethel M gift bag into a special bag for a future home baked gift. It was started by cutting in half a 6x6 Whimsy dessert printed card stock (from a pack). Next I stamped and colored some images from a Whimsy stamp set. To add some realism I frosted the desserts with white dimensional paint (in a squeeze tube). and decorated with some fake candy sprinkles. Once the dimensional paint was dry, I fussy cut out the desserts and attached them with adhesive dots.  The 'But First Dessert' words were stamped and heat embossed in dark brown.
For the back of the bag, I die cut the word 'Sweet' using a Whimsy die and some frosted/foil card stock.  The dessert images for the back were prepared like the ones for the front before they were attached with foam adhesive dots. I was going to leave the sides of the bag undecorated until I noticed that the Ethel M name was printed along the center of the gusset fold. Sigh....so I folded and glued down two paper doilies to the sides  (The part that extended beyond the sides were folded under because cutting would leave unsightly rough edges.  I think they coordinate well with the overall look I was trying to achieve because doilies say 'fancy treats' to me. LOL!  Recycling bags make me happy because I can imagine their life extending far beyond the usual one and done use. I have a second bag twin that is telling me to turn it into an autumn goodie bag. Please visit again to see how it turns out!

Lawn Fawn Sample Autumn Cards

Recently, I was lucky enough to receive some Lawn Fawn sample cards. They were lovely and cute so I decided to share them on my blog.  You will probably be able to purchase (from HM Ben Franklin Crafts) the stamps and dies to create similar cards.  I just love the word puns and the adorable creatures.  I will definitely be making my own versions of these cards but I thought you might like an advance look at the new LF items.  In future blog posts I will feature some of the other holiday Lawn Fawn card samples I received. Please come back for a peek at the crafty excitement.

I Scream for Ice Cream!

It's so hot that I feel like gobbling up ice cream all day.  To prevent this caloric binge, I decided to use my Avery Elle stamps and dies to make a 'sweet' card. It didn't take much effort to find a printed frozen treat card stock and adhere it to a lime green Paper Accent card.  The images were  stamped with permanent ink and colored with Copic pens. Matching Avery Elle dies made cutting out the images a snap and they were easily attached with foam dots. The sentiment from the stamp set was used on a strip of pink card stock before gluing down.  Stickles and fake sprinkles were applied to the frozen treats to add a little sparkle to the card. Making this card did not make the day any cooler but distracted me enough to stop thinking about ice cream.....for awhile....LOL!

Lemonade in a Bottle Card

It's so hot that I'm sweating even with the fan on....and I NEVER sweat!  I decided that making a lemonade card might make me feel cooler.  I recently purchased a Lawn Fawn lemon die set and I felt that it would pair nicely with Pink & Main's lemonade bottle stamp and die sets.  It took several tries to align the stamps before die cutting out the bottle.  In hindsight I should have used my Misti stamping tool. It would have made the procedure a snap.  Anyway, after stamping and die cutting the straw, lemon slices and the sweet faced lemon, I was ready to assemble the card. I found a Doodlebug lemonade paper and die cut a Whimsy mini slimline shape.  I adhered all the parts to the die cut rounded corner rectangle before attaching the whole piece to a rectangle card blank made from a sheet of Lawn Fawn pink striped card stock.  (I rounded the corners with a cropper tool.)  I am pleased with the overall look of the card but next time I think I might make the bottle into a shaker element with citrus fruit confetti.  The message on the bottle is a little difficult to read so I'll type it here because it is a meaningful one:  "There is no lemon so sour that you can't make something resembling lemonade." Pucker up and turn your lemons into lemonade....add lots of sugar please!
