Like on the previous card, I used die cut vellum balloons and die cut the word 'celebrate' before embossing it. I wanted a sparkling word but didn't have any glittery blue embossing powder, so I made my own! I simply mixed clear embossing powder with Queen & Co. blue pixie dust glitter and sprinkled it on the inked die cut word before heat embossing it.
Although this card is similar to the one shown on my last post, it was made for a person born during the year of the monkey. I like the way this card turned out, better than the last one because of the vertical alignment of the card and the penned in balloon strings (twine was too thick). Please read the previous post to learn more about the construction of the card and the supplies used.
Okay, now for the winner of the May drawing (one random person's name is drawn from the comments left in last month's comments)....and the winner is .......wait, wait,...it's been so long since I named a winner, I think I'll pick TWO! Okay....the winners are....Karen (Have A Scrap Happy Day) and Shirley N ( Stampin For the Fun of It). Congrats! I'll be mailing out your prize packets as soon as possible. If you are not familiar with my 'un-contest' contest, it's simple. Every so often I pick a month and randomly choose a name from those who left a comment on my posts for that month. If someone left 2 or more comments that month, that person's name will be entered as many times as he/she commented. "What could I win?", you wonder. Well, I usually send the winner(s) a bunch of cute/crafty goodies and sometimes a HM Ben Franklin Crafts gift card. I think May's winners will be really pleased with the prizes they'll be receiving.....enjoy, and thanks for being faithful readers of my blog!

I am just lovin' your balloon and monkey cards, Lynn. Vellum for the balloons is such a cool idea...your monkey is just irresistibly CUTE (especially with the random falling bananas!) and the sentiments you've picked for both cards were perfect. Hallmark's Shoebox Designs definitely needs to add you to their design staff!
Very clever how you made your own glittery embossed die cut Lynn, thanks for the tip. I love how your birthday balloons are floating up in the air and I love the soft look of your vellum balloons. The added humor of the scene inside makes the card a winner.
I was very surprised about this unexpected win, Lynn. Thank you so much for your generosity!
Hi Lynn!!!
Gee, those balloons sure brings back memories of my childhood. I remember trying to make animals with them even though the end result was nothing like I had in mind. LOL. Love how you designed the inside too. Cute idea. THANK YOU for the sweet surprise win. You are so thoughtful and generous.
